Wat Phu

If you're visiting Southern Laos, another temple I highly recommend is Wat Phu. This ancient temple was built during the reign of King Suryavarman II. Visitors must prepare for this. Golf carts are available to take you up the stairs, but the climb is quite steep. We recommend bringing drinking water. At the top, you'll find an ancient Buddha image, water flowing from a crevice in the rocks, and Buddha footprints.
