Heavenly Lake Tianchi in Changbaishan (China)

On October 25, my husband and I visited the Changbaishan Nature Reserve. It was my little dream, and now it has come true 1000%.

The Changbai Mountains National Nature Reserve is a complex of mountains and the crater of the extinct Changbaishan volcano, located on the border of China and North Korea. This place is truly unique, as the crater houses a lake of incredible beauty called Tianchi, which translates to 'Heavenly Lake.' Tianchi does not reveal itself to everyone; only 1 in 10 visitors gets to see it clear, without fog, haze, or snowfall. We were among the lucky ones, as the visibility was simply magnificent. In 2024, Changbaishan was included in the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network. I definitely recommend visiting.
