Celebrating the New Year in Changchun is so much fun!

As a Northeasterner, I always feel that snow is a must for a happy New Year! The only downside is the cold, but watching the Dashuhua performance in the snow and dancing with a group of people is so much fun. Changchun World Sculpture Park has everything I want for the New Year.

⛰️ Changchun World Sculpture Park
📍 No. 9518, Renmin Street, Nanguan District, Changchun, Jilin
🎫 Ticket: CNY 85
·
🌈 Highlights:
- This attraction is famous for its sculptures. In winter, it has a special ice and snow theme called "Ice and Snow Carnival," featuring ice sculptures, snow sculptures, and ice and snow entertainment.
- It's a great place to take kids, with many entertainment options. The ticket includes a free snow slide for both adults and children.
- Every year, Changchun is decorated with colorful lights for the New Year, and this park is no exception. Trust me! The colorful lights in the snow are really beautiful and dreamy, different from the feeling in the south.
- I was surprised to see the Dashuhua performance, which was spectacular. I've always wanted to see it in the south, but I saw it in my hometown. There was also a Russian ice skating performance. I felt sorry for them wearing so little while performing, as we were cold even in down jackets, and they... um... looked cold. 🥶
- Maybe because of the New Year, there were some singing performances next to the stage. The audience was cold and excited, jumping up and down, having a great time!
·
🕐️ Opening hours:
- 8:30 am–10 pm
- Recommended visit time: 4+ hours
·
🚗 Transportation:
- Direct access via Metro Line 1.
- Navigate to the "Visitor Center" of Changchun World Sculpture Park. The main entrance is on Renmin Street.
·
💗 Tips:
- Parking is a bit difficult, so it's better to take the subway if possible.
- There are food options in the park. If you're tired or cold, you can go to a hut for some hot food, recharge, and continue exploring.
- It's better during the day with sunshine, but it's really cold at night. In addition to keeping warm, you can bring some warm patches and stick them on your stomach, cuffs, knees, lower back, etc. They work well.
