The morning mist over Liuye Lake hasn't yet dissipated when the aroma of fermented sauces wafts from the morning market along Dahe Street. The reason for choosing Ligo 1919 is simple—the moment you push open the walnut wood door, the butler greets you with lemon water: "Your room offers a view of the lake and the yacht pier."
The guest room is more spacious than imagined, with a separate wet and dry bathroom where the premium feel of a Lefan hair dryer and the scent of L'Occitane Verbena compose a prelude to understated luxury. In the afternoon, lounging on the plush sofa, the butler serves tiramisu with freshly ground coffee, just as a painted boat glides past the window. At night, following the glow of lanterns to find food, Sister Tan's Private Kitchen around the corner awakens the taste buds, and upon returning, you find your clothes, carrying the scent of the bustling world, already dried in the laundry room.
The most magical moment comes at dawn, when the river street is still asleep, and you can enjoy freshly wrapped wontons in the restaurant alone, the steam blurring visions of merchant ships from a century ago.
