🕹️ Location: The hotel's location is not particularly ideal. In a city like Changsha with a clear city center, it is neither in a core area like Wuyi Square nor in an absolute city center location. Compared to hotels in prime central locations, it lacks a location advantage, and traveling to popular business districts may require more time on the road.

Room Condition

🛏️ Room: I arrived in Changsha at around 2 a.m. on Friday and had communicated with the hotel by phone in advance. Due to the Huachenyu concert, suites and corner rooms were fully booked, leaving only one courtyard twin room available. Fortunately, check-in was possible from 7 a.m. when the system opened. The room layout was reasonable, space utilization was quite good, and overall it felt comfortable.

Dining Service

🍽️ Dining: There is significant room for improvement in service and food delivery. The restaurant opens at 6:30 a.m., but when I arrived at 6:45 a.m., many dishes were not ready. The live cooking station had no staff, and I was told to wait. It wasn’t until about 7:15 a.m. that cooking began. The breakfast hall service also needs improvement; with only a few tables occupied, ordered dishes were not delivered to the table but instead loudly announced when ready. This kind of service feels inconsistent with the JW Marriott brand positioning.

🛠️ Facilities: The hotel facilities meet overall standards. As a newly opened JW brand hotel, the hardware quality meets the brand’s expected standards. All facilities are complete and functioning properly, meeting guests’ basic needs.

Unforgettable Moments

💁‍♀️ Unforgettable Moments: I appreciate the hotel’s thoughtful arrangement for four people to stay, but there were indeed shortcomings in subsequent service details. The courtyard room has two doors. On the morning of check-in, I asked the customer service lady for a door stopper. When I returned that evening, I found it had been replaced with a soft door stopper that couldn’t hold the door open. I really don’t understand why, if other guests could take it directly if needed, they would replace mine with one that looks similar but is unusable. When leaving, I discussed a few detail issues with the GSM, only to receive a very impatient attitude and a puzzling compensation offer: next time, depending on room availability, an upgrade to a courtyard or corner room. Members already get upgrades based on availability, with the highest upgrade to suites, so this compensation was very perfunctory. However, I want to commend the GSM on duty around 7 a.m. on March 22 for excellent service, and also criticize the GSM on duty around 2 p.m. on March 23.

🧹 Soundproofing/Cleanliness: Soundproofing is good, and cleanliness is satisfactory. The room was clean and tidy, with no odors in the bedding or bathroom, making for a comfortable stay.
🏘️ Room Type/Layout: The courtyard room is very comfortable. The small courtyard living room is perfect for evening gatherings with friends. Buying some wine yourself is much cheaper than going to a bar. The 1.4-meter bed and large sofa inside the room are great for multiple guests, with a reasonable layout and spacious space.
🛌 Amenities/Facilities: Hotel amenities and facilities meet brand standards. All facilities are intact and complete, but there are no particularly outstanding details—just standard and adequate.
💰 Average Cost per Person: This stay cost 1085 RMB. For this price range in a new first-tier city in China, the cost-performance ratio of Changsha JW Marriott is not high.
💗 Other Tips: Marriott Platinum members can enjoy certain benefits, such as suite upgrades based on availability, guaranteed executive rooms, and access to the executive lounge, including breakfast for two and afternoon happy hour. You can inquire at the front desk during check-in. Try to avoid staying during large hotel events to prevent affecting your experience.

Although the courtyard room provided me with a pleasant stay, considering all factors, Changsha JW Marriott Hotel still has significant room for improvement. I hope the hotel will pay more attention to service details and staff training to enhance overall service quality.
