Chaoyang Museum

Chaoyang City Museum was established in 1973 and is a historical museum. It is the largest institution in Chaoyang City for the collection, display, and research of cultural relics.

The cultural relics in the museum are like a vivid historical scroll. The jade artifacts from the Hongshan culture are exquisite, the bronze ritual vessels from the Shang and Zhou dynasties are solemn and elegant, the horse gear and hairpins from the Three Yan period are unique, the Tang tri-colored glazed pottery is colorful, the ceramics of the Liao Khitan nationality have a distinctive style, and the calligraphy and paintings from the Ming and Qing dynasties are full of charm. The numerous and diverse collections fully reflect the regional characteristics of ancient culture in the western Liaoning area.

This place is not only a treasure trove of cultural relics but also a hall of academic research. In many aspects such as the history of northern China, the history of northern ethnic groups, and archaeological cultural research, Chaoyang Museum has become an important academic research base in Liaoning Province. It has invaluable importance for the study of the origin of Chinese civilization and the ancient cultural history of northern ethnic groups.
