Missing the Lunar New Year in Chaozhou? Don't miss the Qinglong Temple Fair!
[Opening]:
🌊The year is new in Chaozhou city, the temple fair is bustling with drums and music.🎎
💕Embroidered banners flutter to welcome the holy carriage, decorated carts gather amidst fragrant dust.🐉
😘The majesty of the Green Dragon shines brightly, the sincerity of the people is true.🙏
🏮The streets are crowded with joyful people, a thousand-year-old custom continues.🎊
⛺[Must-see local attractions]: Since you're in Chaozhou, you can't miss the Qinglong Temple Fair🐲, and if you're at the Qinglong Temple Fair, you definitely need to know the legend of the Green Dragon👀✨:
🛬[Legend of the Green Dragon]: Legend has it that the prototype of Anji Shengwang is Wang Kang📜, the governor of Yongchang in Shu Han. He was credited with protecting the land and its people, and after his death, the locals built a temple to commemorate him🙏. In the early Qing Dynasty, Xie Shaocang, a native of Chaozhou, was an official in Yunnan. He was convicted for opening the granary without authorization to relieve the victims of a disaster⚖️, but Wang Kang appeared in a vision and helped him escape✨. Xie Shaocang then brought the statue of Wang Kang back to his hometown to worship🔥.
🐍 [Legend of the Green Snake]: The Qinglong Ancient Temple was built in the Ming Dynasty🏯. Because green snakes often appeared in the temple but never harmed anyone, they were regarded as auspicious by the Chaozhou people🌿, hence the name "Qinglong Ancient Temple"🐲. One year, the Han River flooded🌊, and the south embankment was in danger⚠️. Green snakes gathered in front of Qinglong Temple, and the floodwaters gradually receded! People believed that Wang Kang had transformed into a green snake to protect the people💫. From then on, Wang Kang was regarded as a folk hero, and the Qinglong Temple became very popular🔥.
🏨[Accommodation Guide]: I came to Chaozhou specifically for the Qinglong Temple Fair🎡, so I chose the📍Yinghe Hotel (Chaozhou Ancient City Paifang Street Branch)🏨, located on the first floor of the Jinlong Building. I booked a 180-degree city view deluxe king room🏙️, so I could watch the parade from my window🎭!
✨The hotel is high-end and elegant, the room is spacious and bright🌞, the bedding is comfortable🛏️, and the bathroom has a separate shower🚿. The room is equipped with smart controls📺, a refrigerator, Chaozhou Kung Fu tea🍵, all necessary toiletries💼, and breakfast🥐🥛.
🧡[Tips]:
📍 **Most importantly, this hotel is very close to all the attractions!🚶♀️After watching the parade, you can visit the Ancient City🏯, Kaiyuan Temple⛩️, Han Wen Gong Ancestral Hall📜, and watch the Shanguan Show✨ in the evening.🍢 Downstairs is a food street, which is very friendly and convenient for tourists like me who are new to Chaozhou😋.
