Guangji Tower exudes ancient charm, its green bricks and black tiles reaching towards the sky.

Also known as Guangji Gate Tower or simply East Gate Tower, Guangji Tower is located on East Gate Street in Chaozhou City, directly facing Guangji Bridge. Built in 1370, during the third year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty, it is the grandest of the seven gate towers of the ancient city of Chaozhou, boasting over 600 years of history. Guangji Tower is a palace-style structure with a double-eaved hip roof, red pillars, lattice windows, painted beams, and carved rafters, all contributing to its majestic appearance. The three-story tower has a five-room wide facade, and an arched gateway below connects the interior and exterior. It is a well-preserved ancient building in Chaozhou. Guangji Tower serves as a major landmark of Chaozhou's ancient city and an important gate on the north embankment, bearing witness to the city's historical transformations.
