Relaxing Stay at Ishigaki Sand River Hotel

This time I came to Ishigaki, looking for a place where I could really rest and relax, and finally chose Ishigaki Sand River Hotel. The hotel is super conveniently located not far from the city and the beach, and you can immediately feel the rich southern atmosphere when you come. The best part is the sunny outside with natural sea views and large green trees next to the hotel, which is very healing.

Located at 547-1, Tonoshiro, Ishigaki Shahe Hotel is conveniently located around, with a 10-15 minute drive to Ishigaki Port or the city center for access to surrounding restaurants and convenience stores. If you want to walk around, you can rent a bicycle and ride to the seaside in the morning to enjoy the sea breeze and feel the unique slow pace of Ishigaki Island.

The hotel environment is super quiet and no noise, perfect for those who like to relax. The room will be cleaned daily and kept very tidy for peace of mind. Each room will have a dining table, and it’s okay to simply buy something to eat. There are also free drinks available in the lobby, which is very convenient to come back to quench your thirst, which is really courteous in some details. The waiters are quite friendly and will communicate in simple English.

For small trips, consider attractions near your hotel such as Ishigaki City Park, Minami’s Delicious Canteen, or go straight to Ishigaki Island to stun at the seaside. There is a bus stop near the hotel, which is very convenient by car to Kawaping Bay and Mihara Wetland.

Impressions: The most favorite thing is that there are not so many tourists, it is very quiet, the room can see the sea, the trees are beautiful, it feels very relax. After nightfall some people will walk to the surrounding izakaya for dinner. When the weather is good, it is recommended to stay more time outside the hotel to take pictures in the sun, quite a holiday Feel.

Booking tip: It is recommended to book online in advance. Japanese hotels generally do not include breakfast, so you can add a reservation if necessary, or try an authentic breakfast at a nearby coffee shop.
Note: The weather on Ishigaki Island changes fast, remember to bring a thin jacket and sunscreen. Buses on the island are not frequent, so you have to keep your travel time.
