Crowne Plaza Chaozhou - A Modern Experience Overlooking the Thousand-Year-Old City

In Chaozhou, this is the only IHG hotel, and surprisingly, both its facilities and service exceeded my expectations.

After arriving at "Chaoshan Station" by high-speed rail, don't rush to take a taxi. The K2 bus inside the station takes 40 minutes directly to "Qiaodong Station," and the hotel is just across the street (wouldn't it be better to spend that 50+ yuan taxi fare on beef hotpot instead!).

The 188m landmark building reaches into the clouds! Hotel rooms are located on floors 32-40. The front desk staff were not only efficient but also professional during check in, proactively introducing hotel features and local travel tips. They even added an IHG membership identifier sticker to the key card holder.

Guest rooms feature panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows with motorized curtains, a three-way bathroom design, and a retractable curtain separating the bathing area that integrates seamlessly with the room when pulled back. The view outside is first-class with excellent visibility, offering unobstructed views of Chaozhou city, Han River, and Guangji Bridge.

The restaurant has great views with plenty of seating, and window seats overlook Han River Tower and Guangji Bridge. Breakfast offers a rich variety of choices, including a station for freshly cooked Kway Teow and noodles (you can add bouncy beef balls), and fresh Chaozhou rice noodle rolls in the morning, which are really delicious.

The hotel's location is truly prime, facing the ancient city of Chaozhou across the river (just cross Jinshan Bridge to reach Paifang Street), 15 minutes to Han Wen Gong Temple, and the night view of Guangji Bridge is right at your doorstep. The hotel facilities are excellent too - among the many hotels I've stayed in, this ranks as one of the very best.
