[Japan's southernmost island] Nishihama Beach on Hateruma Island

Hateruma Airport, the southernmost inhabited island in Japan

Even though it is an isolated island, there are few beaches where you can swim, and the only place where the general public can enjoy swimming is Hateruma Island's main beach, Nishihama.

Nishihama is written in kanji as × Nishihama and ◯ Kitahama.

In the island dialect, Nishi means north, so it is called Nishihama because it is located on the north side of Hateruma Island. 🐠
It's hard to understand, isn't it lol

The waves are calm, so even small children can enjoy swimming, and sometimes sea turtles come to the shallows.
