Step Into Living History in Chaozhou’s Ancient City 🏯🌸
Chaozhou’s ancient city is a wonderland for creators and explorers—think labyrinthine alleys, vintage shopfronts, and secret corners dripping with stories. Artists and shutterbugs, get ready for inspiration overload!
Start your day at the Ancient City of Chaozhou (Xiangqiao District, open 24/7). Wander through centuries-old city walls, traditional gates, and tea shops. Must-do: Pause at the famed Guangji Bridge for morning golden hour shots—its stone arches and misty river views are pure magic. Explore the local calligraphy galleries and handicraft spots tucked within the lanes (peek into courtyards for candid street scenes!).
Then meander to Archway Street (663 Taiping Road, always open). This historic street boasts ornate archways and nostalgic shophouses—a visual feast for your camera! Don’t miss those ‘insta-worthy’ angles framed by stone portals and red lanterns, especially late afternoon when light glimmers through. Pro tip: Browse local snack stands for signature Chaozhou eats—crisp spring rolls and sweet rice cakes.
Tips: The ancient city is lively but never rushed—early mornings bring softer light and quieter streets. Pack a wide-angle lens, wear comfy shoes, and be prepared to get lost in the best way possible. With so much beauty in every corner, you won’t want to hurry!
Precaution: Some uneven pavements and narrow alleys, so mind your step, especially if you’re busy shooting photos.
