The museum is situated at the foot of the Xia Shui Gate in the ancient city of Chaozhou. It is adjacent to the Guangji Bridge and faces the Han Wen Gong Ancestral Hall across the river.

展厅以“誉传寰宇耀名邦”为题，介绍饶先生历年行迹及主要学术贡献；第二层题为“墨渖丹青动艺林”，陈列了饶先生的书画作品；第三层展厅则以“旷世奇才饶宗颐”为题，从“博大精深”、“预流导路”、“勤奋自励”三个方面，对饶先生的学术成就及治学精神，予以述评、介绍。
