Guangji Bridge in Chaozhou Ancient City, one of the four ancient bridges in China

Guangji Bridge, also known as Xiangzi Bridge, was first built in 1171 AD during the Song Dynasty. It has a history of more than 800 years. It is the first opening and closing bridge in China and the world. It is known as one of the four ancient bridges in China together with Zhaozhou Bridge in Hebei, Luoyang Bridge in Quanzhou, and Lugou Bridge in Beijing.
The Guangji Bridge is located above the Han River and has a very unique design. There are stone piers on both sides, as well as exquisite pavilions and towers. In the middle are 18 ancient floating bridges connected together. Walking on the floating bridges is a very magical feeling. Every evening, in order to allow cargo ships to pass, the pontoon bridge will be retracted, and you can watch the scene of "crossing the river and dismantling the bridge". The night view and the light show every night are also very beautiful. #ChaozhouCulture #Appreciate the historical buildings of the ancient city #Chaozhou Ancient City
