Among the shopping streets of Chengdu, the most modern and splendid Historical site square (古迹广场) is an urban space created to protect and utilize the city's historical heritage. It symbolizes culture and tradition and is a plaza created for citizens' relaxation and cultural events. The most famous structure here is probably the hanging panda at IFS Mall. Many tourists take pictures with the hanging panda in front of the shopping mall in the background and go up to the rooftop of the shopping mall to find the panda... If you go up to the rooftop, you can see the panda's face.
Compared to Zhongshan Square or Chunxi Road, this area has much more modern buildings and stores with more expensive brands.
