The ultimate family getaway near Chengdu! Kids won't want to leave!

Near Chengdu's Shuangliu Huanglongxi Ancient Town, a hotel named "Wild Fun" has quietly sprung up. The OCT Happy Fields Wild Fun Hotel isn't your typical luxury accommodation. Instead, its buildings are artfully nestled within a 2,000-acre pastoral landscape. Inspired by the traditional "Chuanxi Linpan" clustered settlements, the designers have reimagined this scattered layout with a modern twist. Twenty-three buildings are dotted like pearls among the rolling terraced fields and lakes.

Guest rooms are divided into three themes: Fields, Forest, and Lakeview. Fields rooms offer views of canola flower fields from the balcony bathtub; Forest rooms feature cantilevered designs, giving the impression of living amongst the treetops; and Lakeview rooms boast viewing platforms extending over the water. Inside, smart home systems complement handmade bamboo lamps, while organic Australian Appelles toiletries are paired with celadon tea sets, perfectly capturing the essence of "rustic luxury." Specially designed family rooms, complete with tent-shaped children's beds and star projectors, offer city kids their first taste of a childhood filled with the sounds of frogs and starry nights.

The hotel's dining focuses on local, fresh ingredients, with the central kitchen located less than 500 meters straight-line distance from Happy Fields' organic farm. At the breakfast buffet, guests can enjoy freshly squeezed pasteurized milk, dewy vegetables, and the rare Chengdu stone-ground bean curd. For lunch and dinner, the traditional Chuanxi "Nine Bowl Feast" is reimagined as individual plated dishes, while Pi County doubanjiang (broad bean paste) and aged Italian balsamic vinegar are combined in innovative ways by the chefs.

The hotel itself is part of the Happy Fields scenic area, and guests with room cards have unlimited access to this national 4A-level tourist attraction. Morning picking at the organic farm, afternoon feeding of adorable animals (alpacas, giraffes, etc.), and evening nature crafts workshops create a full day of activities.

The hotel is just an 8-minute drive from Huanglongxi Ancient Town, a 1,700-year-old water town with well-preserved bluestone streets and Ming and Qing dynasty architecture. A 20-minute drive northwest takes you to Jiangkou Water Town, where tributaries of the Minjiang River form an intricate network of waterways.
