Chill by the Lake in Chengdu

Late Spring Tanglake reflects cloud shadows, neither rainy nor sunny. The people of Shuangliu, Chengdu are truly fortunate. 🤓
The renowned Tang Lake Park is nestled within the old town streets
Just a few steps away 👌🏻
Although the Shu crabapple trees described by Tang poet Xue Neng as "filling the city with fragrance when in bloom" have finished blossoming, the lush greenery around the lake shows even more vitality.
Winding bluestone paths lead into a picturesque scene, with weeping willows brushing across 70 acres of emerald waters, startling the koi fish below. 🖼️
This Sichuan-style garden, built in 1987, combines the elegance of Jiangnan with the natural beauty of Bashu.
In the misty overcast day, it perfectly embodies the tranquility of "neither rainy nor sunny."
🛶 Strolling along the lake, the reflection of Wenjin Bridge dances on the jade-like surface, reminiscent of the graceful Slender West Lake in Yangzhou.
🏞️ Phoenix Pavilion and Yellow Buddha Crossing face each other across the water, with fresh green sprouts by the pavilion weaving a misty scene.
🌠 Golden Flower Bridge hides among bamboo groves, with shimmering water below and swaying bamboo shadows all around, as if you can hear the footsteps of ancient visitors.
🏯 Xunfeng Tower stands 46 meters tall, with a vermilion body topped with blue tiles, its wind chimes telling stories.
⛩️ In front of the tower is Jiang Wan Shrine, where the statue of the famous Shu Han minister sits casually holding a wine cup, looking skyward with a sigh - his drunken pose revealing a touch of pride, perfectly capturing the scholarly elegance of this "pillar of the state."
🍵 Past the Bamboo Pavilion, the aroma of bowl tea drifts from the Xuanming Haitang Tea House by the lake.
😸 Old tea drinkers gather on bamboo chairs while bamboo flute and erhu music floats across the water - much more serene than the crowded Heming Tea House in People's Park.
👀 There's even a famous Zhong Dumplings restaurant at the edge of the park, making it feel somewhat like a Shuangliu branch of People's Park.
I suddenly recall afternoons from my youth, cycling 20 kilometers to get here.
🎣 Elderly anglers sit motionless like sculptures while children chase each other on the corridor bridge.
Women in Hanfu lean against red pillars, fanning themselves, startling white egrets that skim across the water. 🦢
This leisurely "stealing half a day of free time" embodies the philosophy of life that Sichuan people have carried in their bones for thousands of years. 😄
🎈 With the May Day holiday approaching, when bustling streets fill with noise, why not come here to listen to bamboo winds rustling through the forest 🎋 and watch cloud shadows play across the lake ☁️.
Experience the breathing and heartbeat of Chengdu's slow-paced life amid Sichuan charm and Tang dynasty elegance 💓
