Daci Temple

Daci Temple (大慈寺) is a temple located in the heart of Chengdu. It is a Mahayana Buddhist temple with a history of over 1,600 years.

It is said that this temple used to be the temple where the monk Tang Sanzang resided.

Inside, there are Buddha statues for worship and there are also amulets for sale.
The temple is very peaceful and quiet. Even though it is located in the center of the city, it is very quiet inside the temple.

People who visit this temple like to rub the Chinese characters on the front of the temple, which are 福, which means good luck and happiness. The other two characters are 祈, which means to ask for anything, and 寿, which means long life.
