📍Address: Shuangcheng 2nd Road, Wannianchang Subdistrict, Chenghua District, Chengdu (Exit C of Shuangqiao Road Station, Metro Line 8, directly connected to MixC Zone B)
I went on a business trip to Chengdu in late summer, and the hotel arranged by the client truly pleasantly surprised me.
The hotel is ideally located in the heart of Chengdu's East Second Ring Road. On hot days, you can walk downstairs to the top shopping district, MixC, for a stroll and a stroll with your kids. It's also close to downtown landmarks like Taikoo Li Chengdu and IFS, creating a tranquil retreat within the city.
⭐️Hotel Design:
➡️Kapok Hotel is a high-quality hotel brand under China Resources Land. Its interior design was designed by Hong Kong firm CCD Cheng Chung Associates. The hotel is positioned as a high-end, national hotel brand with an international perspective. Construction is expected to be completed in 2023.
➡️Behind the first-floor reception hall is an interesting "miniature museum" featuring aircraft turbine engines, which is closely related to the hotel's former location, the Chengdu 420 Factory dormitory. Be sure to stop by for photos and a photo opportunity. ➡️The overall design blends modern aesthetics with the architectural style of traditional Chengdu, incorporating details of Bashu culture, such as ancient buildings from the Republican era, Shu brocade, bamboo weaving, and lacquer. Entering the lobby, you're transported back to the streets of old Chengdu, where the eaves and rooftops intertwine, creating a sense of a building within a building. This modern yet classic feel is distinct from the typical Western luxury hotels.
➡️The hotel offers two guest rooms: a retro residential style and a business-style minimalist style, each designed to suit your needs.
➡️Each room features a large window-facing bathtub, a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom, double sinks, and a multi-functional toilet, typically found only in Japan. The minibar, housed in an antique mahogany cabinet with a copper lock, offers delicious snacks such as peanut crisps, dried tofu, and beef jerky. All beverages are available in the refrigerator, a real plus.
⭐️Hotel Facilities:
➡️24-hour gym. The only downside is that a renowned five-star hotel doesn't have a swimming pool. 🏊
➡️Offering fine dining options like Xiao Nan Yang, Duan Lu Shao, and Mù Lounge. The banquet hall boasts a stunning view of the sky garden, making meetings and work more efficient, and offering a relaxing stroll when tired.
⭐️Hotel Service:
➡️Full range of five-star service, friendly and responsive, with every request met.
➡️The hotel breakfast is extensive, featuring a fusion of Chinese and Western cuisine, including Bobo Chicken, Bingfen (ice jelly), Sichuan-style croissants, iced tofu pudding, Dandan noodles, and other local specialties. However, the breakfast pick-up area is a bit awkward and scattered, especially the hot and cold food area to the left of the restaurant entrance, which is far from the dining area and easily overlooked.
❗️Bonus: Ask the hotel front desk before check-out and you might receive a beautiful Kapok luggage tag.
