🍁 Chengdu's golden autumn off-peak tour! Stroll through autumn between fireworks and poetry
You think Chengdu is just Kuanzhai Alley and the Panda Base in summer?
Wrong.
October in Chengdu is the most captivating season—
The scent of osmanthus mixed with the smoke of teahouses, ginkgo quietly turning yellow on Qingcheng Mountain, a bowl of steaming hot spicy hotpot on the street warming your heart!
📅 Itinerary: Slow pace + high experience
Day 1: Arrive in Chengdu → Check in at a designer guesthouse near Taikoo Li 🏨 (window view of snow-capped mountains) → Afternoon stroll through the alleys around Kuanzhai Alley to shoot red walls and bamboo shadows → Evening at Heming Teahouse in People’s Park, drink gaiwan tea, snack on sunflower seeds, watch locals chatting → Night check-in at Kuixinglou Street, eat Long Chao Shou dumplings, egg cakes, hotpot! Recommended is the old famous beef tallow hotpot in the alley, so spicy it brings tears but you can’t stop eating 🥢
Day 2: Early departure to the back mountain of Qingcheng (less crowded and wilder than the front mountain) 🚗 1.5-hour drive, hike through forest valleys, maple leaves, smoke tree, and dawn redwood intertwining like an oil painting 🍁 → Afternoon return to the city, stop by Huanhuaxi Park, where fallen ginkgo leaves cover the ground like a golden carpet → Night cruise on Jinjiang River, take a boat to see the lights on both banks, as if traveling through Tang and Song dynasties
Day 3: Sleep in → Morning climb the panda on the rooftop of IFS for photos → Stop by Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li, buy some Zhang Fei beef, hotpot base, Shu embroidery bookmarks as souvenirs → Before leaving, have a bowl of tofu pudding noodles to finish, so fresh it feels soul-stirring
💰 Budget details (per person ≈ 3800 RMB)
✔️ High-speed train/airfare (round trip from major cities nationwide): 1000-1500 RMB (book early for discounts)
✔️ Accommodation: Boutique guesthouse / 4-star hotel × 2 nights ≈ 900 RMB/night = 1800 RMB
✔️ Food + snacks: 600 RMB (Chengdu is cheap and delicious, eat until you’re full without overspending)
✔️ Tickets + transportation: 400 RMB (Qingcheng Mountain ticket 80 RMB, cable car extra, convenient subway + taxi)
📌 Tips
✅ Best in mid to late October, pleasant climate, fewer tourists, perfect for photos 📸
✅ Wear comfortable shoes! Chengdu is best explored on foot to taste authentic flavors
✅ Want to shoot artistic photos? At 7 a.m. in People’s Park, when the mist lingers and tea fragrance rises, you’ll get perfect shots instantly
This autumn, don’t squeeze into West Lake or get stuck in Huangshan traffic,
Come to Chengdu,
Sit in an old teahouse and doze off, wait for a ginkgo leaf to fall on your shoulder,
And hear someone say: “Miss, want a refill?”
