Water Curtain Cave, formerly known as Zhangguyan Karst Cave, is a scenic spot located in Zhongbu Town, Leping City, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province, three kilometers from the Weird Stone Forest Scenic Area. It is East China's largest underground river and most spectacular karst cave. Water Curtain Cave is over 7,000 meters long, with 1,000 meters currently open for tours, and 900 meters of rafting is currently under development. Water Curtain Cave, a magical and wonderful cave world, offers visitors endless enjoyment.
Only one-tenth of the Water Curtain Cave has been developed. The scenery inside is truly breathtaking: a towering pillar, the vicissitudes of life, and most breathtakingly, the rising sun. Under a vast dome, water droplets from the limestone ceiling, over eons, have formed a massive sphere beneath. Illuminated by the light, the sphere appears golden and transparent. The surface is covered in wrinkles formed by the water droplets, like a young woman's wedding dress. One can stand atop this golden sphere, as if the rising red sun is lifting them upwards, like a great leader.
The cave is crisscrossed by rivers and boasts a dazzling array of stalactites, including towering stone pillars, drooping stone curtains, high-hanging stalactites, inverted stone bells, and crisscrossing stone fields. Lifelike figures of humans, gods, and animals appear. In Water Curtain Cave, water gurgles outside, while a clear spring cascades down from the clifftop, over 100 meters high, creating a scene reminiscent of a waterfall plunging three thousand feet, like the Milky Way falling from the heavens. The caverns vary in depth, sometimes low and narrow, sometimes broad and vast.
Subtropical monsoon climate; Water Curtain Cave is the largest underground river and the most majestic cave in East China. It was developed from a natural cave and is suitable for travel in all seasons.
