Around Chengdu|The Thousand-Year-Old Ancient City of Qingbaijiang - Chengxiang

Spent National Day with grandma 👵 strolling around the town. This is the ancient town my grandma often took me and my sister to when we were kids, full of memories. The newly renovated Chengxiang has transformed from a leisurely small town into an ancient city with a strong commercial atmosphere. To those who say it’s a newly built ancient city, please do some research before commenting!
·
🏞️ The Chengxiang Ancient Town features a moat, academy, Confucian temple, and martial temple... These are typical structures of ancient county towns. It is the only ancient town in Chengdu that has preserved the county system layout for a thousand years.
·
✍🏻 A few ancestral halls in the ancient town are well preserved, the most representative being the Chen Ancestral Hall in Qing Dynasty Hakka style, with three courtyards. The hall’s architecture is grand and the craftsmanship exquisite.
·
🔥 Main attractions:
Xiuchuan Academy, Sanqing Temple, General Peng’s Memorial Hall, Confucian Temple, Martial Temple, Shoufo Temple, Chen Ancestral Hall, and more
·
🧑🏻‍🍳 Dining recommendation:
Old-style Sichuan cuisine at Chen Family Ancestral Hall. The taste here is really good. No photos this time because it was too crowded during National Day, will share next time.
