Chill and pay respects at Wat Chedi Luang

If you're visiting Chiang Mai and want to experience an ancient temple with stunning Lanna architecture, Wat Chedi Luang Worawihan is a must-see. This temple was built in 1557 by King Mangrai to house important Buddha statues and serve as a center for spreading Buddhism during that era.

The highlight of the temple is the massive Chedi Luang, which once stood 82 meters tall but now measures around 60 meters due to damage from an earthquake in the past. Despite this, it remains magnificent and is a significant symbol of Chiang Mai.

In addition to the Chedi Luang, the temple grounds feature beautiful ubosot and viharn buildings to explore. The peaceful atmosphere makes it perfect for strolling, taking photos, or relaxing in the heart of the city.
