Wat Ton Kwen, a Beautiful Chiang Mai Temple

Wat Ton Kwen
(Wat Intharawat) is located on Khlong Chonlaprathan Road, on the same route as the Royal Flora Expo. This small temple, with its wooden viharn, is an ancient structure with exquisitely carved patterns, showcasing the delicate craftsmanship of Chiang Mai craftsmen.

Inside, a principal Buddha image is enshrined on a glass pedestal with intricate patterns. A notable feature is the Chaturamuk Pavilion, the only one found in northern Thailand. Furthermore, the temple's original Lanna architecture is considered a complete and valuable prototype. The Association of Siamese Architects declared it an Outstanding Preservation Building in 1989.

The beauty of the past, conveyed through time, inspired architects to design the Ho Kham Luang, which stands majestically in the center of the Royal Park Rajapruek. It is a striking and beautiful symbol, captivating both Thais and foreigners. The charm of this temple has often captivated television and drama directors, making it a beautiful setting for numerous dramas set in the Lanna region.
