Wat Ket Karam, a Beautiful Temple in Chiang Mai

Wat Ket Karam is an ancient temple in Chiang Mai, built in 1428 during the reign of King Sam Fang Kaen. It is located near the Ping River Road, a popular ecotourism destination in Chiang Mai.

The most important religious site is the Ubosot (ordination hall), a Lanna architectural landmark. The building's distinctive features include its delicate wood carvings and stuccowork, which remain in pristine condition. Two Naga serpents slither out from the chapel walls, flanking the handrails.

There's also the Phra That Wat Ket Karam, or Chulamani Chedi, a sacred relic for those born in the Year of the Dog according to Lanna belief. It represents the Phra Kesa Kaew Chulamani Chedi in the Daowadungsa Heaven, which humans cannot reach.

Address: 96 Charoen Rat Road, Wat Ket Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province
