🛕Wat Umong (Suan Phuttadham), Chiang Mai 🛕

Wat Umong's history began as "Wat Welukattharam," built by King Mangrai as a residence for Sri Lankan monks. Later, King Kuena built a tunnel within the temple and invited Phra Maha Thera Chan to reside there, thus earning the name "Wat Umong Thera Chan." Later, the temple was abandoned until Chao Chuen Siroros restored it as a meditation center and renamed it "Wat Umong (Suan Phuttharam)," a name still used today.
