As we are half-breed descendants of Lanna, whether we travel back home to Chiang Rai or come to visit Chiang Mai every time, the first plan is to head to Wat Phra That Doi Kham. Being able to come up and pay homage to Luang Por Tan Jai is considered a spiritual support every time for us.
The journey up is not difficult at all. As far as I know, there are red cars that can go up the mountain. For those who prefer to rent a car, you can drive up and park up there as well. Observe carefully, along the way up, there will be vendors selling jasmine flowers all the way. I recommend stopping by to buy some because they don't sell them up there. And this is important when paying homage to Luang Por Tan Jai.
Paying homage to Luang Por Tan Jai is to have (a flower cone). In the northern language, it's called this 🤣 I don't know what it's called in the central language. It's a banana leaf shaped into a cone. Inside, there are incense sticks, candles, flowers, and the main thing to pay homage is this jasmine garland. We will see many jasmine garlands in front of Luang Por. Our little trick for paying homage is to be very determined and think to yourself and tell Luang Por that We are half Lanna children (hehe) and have only one intention: if we want or want to do something, if we succeed, we will come back to offer jasmine garlands to Luang Por. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
