Wat Phra That Doi Kham is an ancient temple built in 1230 during the reign of Queen Chamadevi. This renowned temple in Chiang Mai is a must-see when visiting Chiang Mai. Praying for the fulfillment of wishes from Luang Por Than Jai, and when those wishes are granted, people often bring jasmine garlands to fulfill their vows. Besides paying respects to the sacred Luang Por Than Jai, the temple also offers a beautiful vantage point overlooking Chiang Mai.
Upon arrival at the temple, you'll see a large outdoor Buddha statue, "Luang Por Phut Dai," situated in front of the ordination hall. It's in the diamond meditation posture, in the Chiang Saen style.
Once inside the temple, pay homage to Phra That Doi Kham, a sacred landmark of Chiang Mai, enshrining the relics of the Lord Buddha. In front of the chedi is the "Wihan Luang," a Lanna-style shrine housing a sacred Buddha image.
For those visiting Chiang Mai or interested in spiritual practices, a visit to pay homage and pray to Luang Por Than Jai is a must-see. Chiang Mai 🙏🏻
