
The Warring States Iron Smelting Site is located in Chushan Town, Xiping County, Zhumadian City, Henan Province. It is a famous iron smelting site in Korea during the Warring States Period. The famous swords of the Warring States Period, such as Tangxi, Longquan, Ganjiang, and Moye, were all cast here. It has the reputation of " Korean swords are the best in the world " .
This is also the earliest and most complete smelting furnace discovered in China so far, and the earliest one built with prepared black refractory furnace wall materials. It provides important physical materials for the study of ancient Chinese metallurgical history.
The Warring States Iron Smelting Site is rectangular, 558 meters long from east to west and 190 meters wide from north to south, covering an area of 11,152 square meters. The cultural layer is 1.5 meters thick. Remains include the remains of smelting furnace walls, slag, iron ore, broken iron swords, pottery basins, pots, and urns used for daily life, and bricks and tiles.
