Wat Umong, or Suan Phuttharam, is located on Suthep Road in Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. It was built during the reign of King Mangrai around 1296 CE, which is over 700 years old. Later, King Kuena built a tunnel here for the Venerable Maha Thera Chan to use as a meditation retreat. The interior walls have multiple passageways, and the tunnel also features ancient murals. Tourists often wander through the tunnel to admire its beauty, take photos, pay respects, and meditate. The interior is incredibly cool.
