Chiang Rai is full with many different eateries but these are some of my favourites!

1. Chivit Thammada Café: A charming riverside café with an English country home vibe, offering a cozy ambiance. Known for its vintage decor and tranquil garden setting, it’s a perfect spot for brunch or afternoon tea. The menu features a mix of Western and Thai dishes, as well as fresh pastries and organic coffee.
2. Wan Jai Dessert: A trendy dessert spot that specializes in traditional Thai sweets with a modern twist. You’ll find a variety of unique treats, from shaved ice to custards and traditional Thai sticky rice with mango, all beautifully presented.
3. Khao Soi Mae Pimpon: Famous for its delicious Northern Thai specialty, khao soi, this local eatery is a must-visit for those seeking authentic flavors. The rich, coconut-based curry soup paired with crispy noodles and tender chicken or beef is a hearty and flavorful experience. You can also try the dry version of the khao soi here!
4. Doi Tung Café: Located within the Doi Tung Development Project (Doi Tung Royal Villa and Mae Fah Luang Garden), this café is a part of an initiative to support local communities through sustainable coffee farming. It offers ethically sourced coffee grown on the nearby mountains, accompanied by stunning views of the surrounding landscape. A great place to relax after visiting the Doi Tung Royal Villa.
5. Monsieur Café: A humble rustic café run by a lovely couple that offers a mix of Western-style breakfasts and Thai fusion dishes. With classic decor and a laid-back atmosphere, it’s a good spot to enjoy coffee and breakfast.
6. Hacienda Coffee House: A hidden gem located on the outskirts of Chiang Rai, Hacienda Coffee House is known for its relaxed, rustic setting and strong, flavorful coffee made from locally sourced beans. It’s ideal for those looking for a quiet escape while sipping on a well-crafted brew. Don’t miss out their scones and their fancy Thai-fusion dishes like the Tomyam Carbonara Spaghetti!
7. Nanthaka Rice Porridge: A local favorite for comforting bowls of jok (Thai rice porridge), Nanthaka is well-known for its simple yet flavorful breakfast options. The rice porridge is often served with pork, egg, and fresh herbs, making it a great way to start the day in Chiang Rai.

These spots offer a mix of local flavors, global influences, and cozy atmospheres for a complete Chiang Rai experience!!
