The goal of this trip was to plan a relaxing vacation without any stress. Khao Lak in Thailand seemed like the perfect destination, as it is relatively quiet and has many large resorts, making it ideal for spending quality time at the hotel. I headed to Khao Lak and enjoyed a truly restful vacation as planned.
Day 1 & Day 2: JW Marriott Khao Lak!
Choosing this hotel was a tough decision. I wondered if it might be too big or if the abundance of families would make it uncomfortable. However, contrary to my concerns, there was nothing to worry about. Upon requesting a quiet room, we were assigned a pool access room in the ADULT ZONE area. The layout was more compact than expected, making it easy to get to breakfast, restaurants, or the beach for a walk without any hassle.
The swimming pool was massive, and the atmosphere was consistent throughout, so every photo turned out beautifully no matter where it was taken. The resort was so well-designed that every corner felt like a photo spot. Breakfast was served in a separate adult zone, allowing for a peaceful and leisurely meal.
JW's private beach, the largest and longest in Khao Lak, was breathtaking. We spent two nights at the JW Resort, enjoying meals at the pool bar and restaurant.
Day 3:
After a late check-out around 2:30 PM, we decided to enjoy some bamboo rafting before heading to our next hotel.
We drove 40 minutes to KOMOL'S CORNER BAMBOO RAFTING, paid 1,200 baht for two people, and enjoyed a 40-minute bamboo rafting experience. It felt like an adventure through the jungle, complete with snakes in the trees. It was thrilling and highly recommended! The photos turned out amazing, and we were very satisfied.
Next, we moved to Kalima Resort, just 10 minutes away.
The reason for choosing this resort was the floating breakfast option, along with excellent room conditions and great value for money.
We arrived in the afternoon, enjoyed the cozy swimming pool, and watched the sunset over a completely different beach atmosphere compared to JW. We ended the day with dinner at a fantastic restaurant.
Day 4 (Last Day):
The floating breakfast (1,100 baht) arrived on time, and we had a leisurely and relaxing morning.
Since our flight was at 11:40 PM, we extended our check-out time to 6 PM for an additional 1,800 baht.
After checking out, we visited the resort's massage shop at 6 PM. We paid a total of 3,000 baht for a 90-minute oil massage for my partner and a Thai massage for me. It was incredibly satisfying! The luxurious interior added a sense of calm and satisfaction.
Finally, it was time to head to the airport! After about an hour's drive, we arrived at Phuket Airport, returned the rental car, and boarded an Asiana Airlines flight with lie-flat economy seats back to Korea. Goodbye, Khao Lak!
☆ Don't hesitate to choose JW Marriott Khao Lak! A pool access room is a must, not an option! Bring a boat tube for 10 times the fun!
☆ Bamboo rafting is a must-do!
☆ Enjoy a floating breakfast in a private pool room at Kalima Resort. Your partner will be delighted! ^^
