Buddha Navalan Tue

Phra Phuttha Nawalan Tue, Phra Chiang Saen Si Phaendin, Chiang Rai Province
It is a large golden Buddha statue weighing more than 69 tons. The Buddha statue is 9.99 meters wide at the lap and 15.99 meters high. It sits on a large glass pavilion of merit.
The story of Phra Phuttha Nawalan Tue sinking underwater. Tue is a measure of Lanna people, meaning a crore. Therefore, the word "Lan Tue" means that this Buddha statue is large and heavy. It is assumed that the Buddha statue sank along with Don Tan Island, which is currently the Mekong River in front of Chiang Saen District Office.
