🛕 Wat Chedi Luang, Chiang Saen: Wat Jedee Loung Chiang Sean is an ancient temple with historical and Lanna cultural significance. It is located within the walls of Chiang Saen. It was originally called 'Wat Phra Luang'.
🧱 After the construction of the walls of Chiang Saen, Phraya Saen Phu ordered the construction of a new chedi to cover the original chedi built by Phraya Siritham Asokarat. Later, the Phra Viharn of Wat Phra Luang was built, which was 8 wa wide, 17 wa long, and 29 wa high. In 2058, during the reign of Phra Muang Kaew, the chedi was renovated by excavating the base of the large chedi in the central temple of Chiang Saen and building a new chedi with a base width of 15 wa and 25 wa.
