The Hong Kong Railway Museum is located in Tai Po Market and offers free admission. The old Tai Po Market train station features a traditional Chinese golden roof building full of nostalgic charm.

Highlights: You can board steam and diesel locomotives, explore the interiors of six historic carriages, and get hands-on with Hong Kong’s railway history; the interactive education area lets children simulate driving a train, making it very fun; the outdoor exhibition displays rare railway artifacts, perfect for photo opportunities.

It’s a 10-minute walk from Tai Po Market Station Exit A2. It’s recommended to visit in the morning to avoid crowds and allow 2 hours for your visit. Closed on Tuesdays and during Lunar New Year. Bring mosquito repellent!
