I didn't expect Chiayi Park to be so large. It has the Sun-Shooting Tower, the Martyrs' Shrine and buildings from the Japanese colonial period. The Showa 18-Chiayi City Historical and Cultural Museum has a very Japanese flavor and offers reservations for kimono experiences. The whole park is lush and suitable for walking, but unfortunately there are many small black mosquitoes.
