🌳 Chiayi Park, located in the East District of Chiayi City, was established in 1910 during the Japanese colonial period. It is the oldest park in Chiayi City, covering an area of approximately 26.8 hectares. The park is surrounded by lush greenery, blending natural landscapes with cultural and historical landmarks. It is home to one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Chiayi," the "Park Misty Trees," a poetic scene where treetops appear misty after rain.
Notable attractions include the Sun-Shooting Tower, symbolizing the spirit of Chiayi; the Qing Dynasty Confucius Temple and Fukangan Shengci Stele; the Twelve Ancient Cannons; the Bingwu Earthquake Memorial Monument; and the Yijiangshan Memorial Hall. Additionally, the park features scenic elements such as small bridges, flowing streams, fountains, and artificial hills, as well as a children's play area and a rich collection of old trees.
This park is not only a vital recreational spot for residents but also a living testament to Chiayi's evolution from the ancient city of Zhuluo to a modern urban center.
