📝 Personal Experience

The Chiayi City Historical Relics Museum, now operating under the brand name "Showa 18 J18," is located within Chiayi Park. It was originally an auxiliary building of the Chiayi Shrine during the Japanese colonial period, including the Saikan (guesthouse) and Shamusho (office). The architectural style is a classic Japanese "Shoin-zukuri," with a roof designed in the "Irimoya-zukuri" style, showcasing a strong oriental aesthetic.

The museum is divided into eight exhibition areas, covering topics such as Chiayi City's urban development, education, industry, significant historical events, notable figures, religion and folklore, historical sites and architecture, and park development. Additionally, the museum features a dining area, a cultural and creative product zone, a kimono experience area, and the Chiayi Mini Literature Hall, offering diverse cultural experiences.

The kimono experience area is highly recommended, where visitors can wear kimonos imported from Japan and take photos within the Japanese-style architecture, immersing themselves in the rich Showa atmosphere. Moreover, the Chiayi Mini Literature Hall showcases and sells local literary works, providing deeper insights into the cultural essence of the city.

The Chiayi City Historical Relics Museum is not just a place for preserving history but also a space that integrates culture, art, and lifestyle, making it an ideal destination for travelers who love history and culture.
