Located on the 3rd floor, S302, popular national treasures on display include the "Yingzu Ding Ding." Dating from the late Shang Dynasty to the early Western Zhou Dynasty, the vessel bears the three characters "Yingzu Ding" on its inner wall. It is the largest and heaviest bronze vessel currently in the National Palace Museum's collection.

[What is Cloisonné?]
A pattern is outlined on a metal base with wire, then repeatedly filled with enamel glaze and polished. This technique is also known as copper wire cloisonné enamel. It was introduced to China during the Yuan Dynasty from Byzantium via Islamic lands. Seventeenth-century connoisseurs declared that those produced during the Jingtai reign of Emperor Daizong of the Ming Dynasty were the most collectible.

This section of the Kangyur, the Tibetan Buddhist canon, was copied by 171 lamas and commissioned by the Kangxi Emperor's grandmother, Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang, with the support of Emperor Kangxi. The construction cost five thousand taels of gold and took two years to complete. Legend has it that those who witness it will receive blessings for seven generations. This exhibition hall is amazing, showcasing various Buddha forms from different periods and countries. 👍

I thought it would be boring, and I only waited in line for a little over an hour, but I didn't expect to see enough of this exhibition. I'll save it for another time! Also, the National Palace Museum is incredibly large! If you don't want to go inside and pay to see the exhibition, strolling around the outside is quite relaxing. 😌 I even saw people jogging.
