Introducing Qingyuan

Qingyuan Ancient Village is located in Duanshen Township, northeast of Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province. It is separated from Wucheng, Xiuning County, Huangshan City, Anhui Province, by Wulong Mountain, and from Kaihua, Zhejiang Province to the east by Majinling Mountain. Here, the canyon is deep and secluded, as wide as the winding valley of the Taihang Mountains, and as beautiful as the Peach Blossom Spring of Wuling. Situated atop thousands of mountains, it offers protection from the outside world while overflowing with inner peace. It was a refuge chosen by our ancestors for many times to escape the chaos of war, earning it the nickname "Little Peach Blossom Spring." Inside the ancient pavilion "A Different World" at the entrance of Qingyuan Village, an ancient quatrain remains: "Hidden in the empty mountains, beautiful mists and clouds. Waters are impassable, and land is uncarable. Despite the chaos of war in the Central Plains, the depths of Peach Blossom Spring are my home." Couplets flanking the original pavilion's entrance read: "The clamor of carriages and horses dies down, recalling the past, whose three paths offer a peaceful escape, not unlike Tao Jingjie's. The sounds of chickens and dogs echo, yet here, the people live in peace, and the falling flowers resemble those of Wulingyuan." The horizontal couplet reads: "Deep in Peach Blossom Spring." This is the origin of the saying that Qingyuan Ancient Village is a Little Peach Blossom Spring.
