Dine like a Khan in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia 🏇

Our First Mongolian Dinner in Chifeng!

After a 2.5-hour high-speed train ride from Beijing (departed 4:21 PM, arrived around 7 PM), we reached Chifeng hungry and freezing in the late October cold. ❄️

Luckily, just a short 10-minute walk from our hotel in Longzhi Yizing (Hongshan District), we found the perfect spot — 斯琴阿妈 Restaurant (Siqin Ama), a local Mongolian restaurant that made us feel like true Khans! 🐎

The place is beautifully decorated with Mongolian ornaments, and they even have a private ger (yurt) inside for dining — super immersive experience!

Of course, we went all out on lamb dishes:
🔥 Hotplate lamb — juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned.
🥟 Meat pancakes — stuffed with beef and lamb fillings.
🍗 Kungpao chicken — if you want something other than lamb.
🍳 And surprisingly, the fried egg with chives stole the show!

10/10 — a hearty and authentic Mongolian meal to kick off our Inner Mongolia adventure.
