The World Famous Wood Carvings (Luoyang) Expo Park, located west of the Dingdingmen Ruins Museum in Luoyang, showcases rare and precious wood carvings from around the world. Each piece represents the meticulous craftsmanship of thousands of top tree carving masters from around the world. Each piece is crafted from rare and non-renewable materials such as golden nanmu, golden camphor, and ebony, each by renowned sculptors. The sculptures vary in style, ranging from the lifelike "Twelve Chinese Zodiac Animals" to the elegant figures of Laozi, Mencius, and Zhuangzi, as well as the vivid images of China's "Ten Sages," including Guan Yu, the Martial Saint, Zhang Zhongjing, the Medical Saint, and Du Kang, the Wine Saint.
Laozi and Confucius, the sages of Confucius, are carved from camphor wood, whose aroma can be smelled from afar. Camphor wood is resistant to harmful gases and repels mosquitoes in summer. The juxtaposition of the two figures evokes the famous Luoyang story of Confucius visiting the Zhou Dynasty to inquire about rituals. The "Silk Road" sculpture is a treasure trove created specifically for Luoyang by the World Famous Wood Carvings Expo Park.
The Expo Park selected the materials in advance, and the carving of this 11-meter-long, 1.5-meter-diameter ebony took one year and three months to complete. This ebony artwork, named after the Silk Road, features 26 camels and 23 human figures, recreating a powerful East Asian civilization from thousands of years ago for modern audiences. Marakinshan, also known as "Rich on Horseback," is made of golden camphor, a member of the Lauraceae family, also known as mountain fragrant fruit, and is considered one of Myanmar's three treasures. The deck of the Titanic was made of Burmese golden camphor, and despite centuries of seawater corrosion, it remains in excellent condition. Since the last century, the world's resources of Burmese golden camphor have become increasingly scarce, making it a timeless collectible.

Suitable for appreciating wood carvings, the World Famous Wood Carving Expo Park will gather rare and famous wood carving artworks from all over the world, with a total number of 1,900 pieces, which arrived at the park in three batches. More than 200 pieces have arrived at the park so far. Each artwork is made of non-renewable and rare materials such as golden nanmu, golden camphor, ebony, etc., and is created by famous carving masters. Each piece weighs between 3 and 30 tons and can reach a maximum of 8 meters. The total value of the products is nearly 10 billion yuan.
