| Was It Worth the Half-Year Wait? After sitting on my wishlist for nearly half a year, I finally checked in at Chishui Jianglu Yalugu! Let me share whether it lived up to the hype.
💰 Price: Rooms range from ¥4,980 to ¥2,080. I opted for the ¥2,080 Bamboo Sea room and was thoroughly satisfied. The main differences between room types are the window views and size. Pricier options include cave rooms with natural rock formations, some even as lofts—perfect for group stays. All public areas are shared, so just pick what suits your needs.
💁♀️ Service: The butler service is impeccable—thoughtful and attentive! Dining is also great; just add the butler on WeChat in advance to book meals and times. Highly recommend dining at the hotel—the restaurant offers stunning views, live music, and singers in the evening. Plus, there’s afternoon desserts and nighttime sweet soups. Who wouldn’t love this level of service?
📸 Aesthetics: Whether day or night, every shot is Instagram-worthy—no awkward angles to worry about. With limited rooms and few guests, you can snap photos freely. Photography lovers, don’t miss this!
🚗 Transportation: The route surprised me. While road signs are clear, no one mentioned the one-way, winding mountain roads—my heart was in my throat the whole drive. But on the flip side, this seclusion ensures a peaceful retreat.
🎈 Nearby Attractions: If travel goes smoothly, it’s close to 5A-rated Swallow Rock, 4A-rated Buddha Light Rock, and Sidonggou. These hidden gems offer stunning scenery with few crowds. The entire Chishui area is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site and a national Danxia landform geopark, even recommended by *Lonely Planet*. With fresh air, lush greenery, and comfortable humidity, it’s perfect for hiking and trekking enthusiasts!
🍲 Local Delicacies: As mentioned in my earlier posts, Chishui specialties like bean curd and bamboo shoot dishes are must-tries.
✨ Other Tips: Renting a car is best for exploring—many spots only have shuttle buses, and taxis are rare (I saw just two during my stay). For long-distance travelers, fly to Luzhou Yunlong Airport first, then rent a car.
Verdict: Chishui Jianglu Yalugu is absolutely worth it, whether for a relaxing getaway or a photo op. Highly recommended!
