The gateway to Hokkaido tourism, New Chitose Airport, is packed with so many facilities that you can spend hours enjoying gourmet food, sweets, activities, souvenirs, restaurants, and hot springs, that it feels like it's already a tourist destination.
There are Doraemon facilities and Pokemon stores where even small children won't get bored, Royce Chocolate World, and Hello Kitty's Happy Flight, but the airport is so large that even getting around can be a struggle. We recommend arriving early and leaving plenty of time to spare!
