Wachiratharn Waterfall, a beautiful waterfall in Chiang Mai

Wachirathan Waterfall was one of the highlights of our day trip to Doi Inthanon. We stopped by in the morning, and it was breathtaking from the moment we arrived. The waterfall cascades powerfully down a tall cliff, sending mist into the air and creating beautiful rainbows when the sun hits it right. The path from the parking lot to the main viewing area is short and easy, which made it super convenient for everyone in the family.
We stood at the base for a while just taking in the view and the roar of the water. There’s something really calming and energizing about it at the same time. There’s also a trail that leads you up to a higher viewpoint where you can see more of the surrounding forest and falls. It’s not a difficult climb, but do wear shoes with grip—the rocks can get slippery.
There are food stalls and simple restrooms near the entrance, and while it’s not a place you’d stay at for hours, even spending 30–45 minutes here felt refreshing. We didn’t get to swim (it’s not allowed), but the cool mist alone was enough to beat the heat.
If you’re heading to Doi Inthanon, definitely make time for this stop. It’s easily one of the most photogenic waterfalls we’ve seen in Thailand.
