CHOOSING CHONGQING

A lot of good experiences happened during this day trip to Chongqing.

I rode on a bullet train for the first time! I departed from Chengdu East Railway Station via Taipingyuan Line to Chongqing North Railway Station. The trip lasted for just about 1.5-2 hours and the entire trip was fast, smooth and comfortable as you’d expect a bullet train to be. 🚅

Glad I was able to process my document in the Philippine Consulate located in World Financial Centre within just 15 minutes. With excitement, I got the whole day free—-wandering in Chongqing.

I enjoyed people watching in Jiefangbei Square Located in the center of downtown Chongqing, Jiefangbei CBD, also known as Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street or Jiefangbei Square, is the busiest and most prosperous business district in West China. It centers on the People's Liberation Monument, or Jiefangbei in Chinese and includes Minquan Road, Minzu Road and Zourong Road. It's now a must-go destination for tourists to Chongqing, where one can enjoy shopping and various delicious foods.

Speaking of food, I found the most delicious ‘Dan Dan Mian’ here in the famous noodle joint called Zhengdong DanDan Mian ‘A Time-Honored Brand of Chongqing Noodles. A bowl costed 10RMB and since it’s so savoury, I got 2 more extra bowls. 😂🍜 Sadly, ‘Zhengdong’ is only exclusive in Chongqing. #musttrydandanmian

I also spent most of my time just sitting and feeling the breeze under the shade of Gingko Trees near the Jiefangbei Guotai Arts Centre or Chongqing Art Gallery. This red building sticks out from the rest of the shiny glass towers that surrounds it because of its unique design. It seems resemble a handful of chopsticks. It has a stunning architectural design. I regret not having gone inside to see the actual artwork on display.
