Hanlin Academy: A Historic Educational Institution

The Hanlin Academy, originally known as Lishi Academy, became an educational institution established by the Sun family in the late Qing Dynasty. The academy earned its current name, Hanlin Academy, because the Sun family produced three provincial-level scholars (ju ren) and two Hanlin scholars (high-ranking members of the imperial academy).

Personal Opinion: In my opinion, the Hanlin Academy is a significant site that highlights the rich educational and intellectual history of the region. The legacy of the Sun family and their contributions to education make this institution a valuable and enlightening destination for visitors interested in the history of Chinese education.
