Chongqing's "Little Forest"! Zen Aesthetic Homestay at the Foot of Hufeng Mountain

Chongqing Sixia Mountain Hidden Homestay
Hufeng Mountain Village, Zengjia Town, Shapingba District

Nestled in Hufeng Mountain Village of Zengjia Town in Shapingba District, this homestay neighbors a century-old path and hides deep within the forested mountains. Drive to Hufeng Mountain Scenic Area, follow the winding mountain path until you reach the "Sixia Mountain Hidden" sign, then walk through a bamboo grove to arrive—truly a ritual of retreat into seclusion.

This place was once a dilapidated three-sided courtyard with rammed earth walls. Designers created a dialogue between steel-framed glass structures and the old walls, preserving the texture of the ancient village while infusing modern aesthetic elements. To protect the native forest, even the positions of large trees were repeatedly adjusted during construction. Glass terraces reflect cloud shadows, bamboo lanterns adorn corridors—every corner seems to have grown naturally from the wilderness.

Guest rooms are named after the collision of "daily necessities × cultural arts": Firewood Listening to Music: a suspended swing overlooking bamboo forests; Rice Playing Chess: a rooftop pool gazing at stars; Vinegar Toasting: wabi-sabi aesthetics within rammed earth walls... Floor-to-ceiling windows welcome morning sunlight filtering through pine shadows. Smart locks, floor heating, and custom bathtubs come standard. When morning light penetrates the treetops and falls on the plain white bedding, urban anxiety instantly melts away.

Breakfast: Choose between Chinese and Western styles—Chongqing noodles with soft-boiled eggs, or European bread and salad with hand-dripped coffee. Mountain dinner: Custom meals available with advance reservation, featuring matsutake chicken soup, assorted cured meats, and seasonal wild vegetables sourced from nearby farms. Afternoon tea: Don't miss the "Highland Clear Dew" drink and "Osmanthus Frost" dessert, served in pottery custom-made by artisans—both visually stunning and delicious.
