Beautiful view at Longmenhao Old Street, Chongqing

Walking through Longmenhao Old Street was like stepping into a living painting.

The moment I arrived, I was struck by the contrast—old buildings with black-tiled roofs and wooden windows lining the street, while just beyond them, the modern skyline of Chongqing shimmered across the Yangtze River. It felt like the past and present were woven into one incredible view.

One of my favorite spots was the Lan Yue Tai (Blue Moon Terrace). Standing there, I had a clear view of the Dongshuimen Bridge stretching across the river, with the Yangtze River Ropeway gliding slowly above the water. As the sun began to set, the whole city started to glow—soft golden light on the buildings, boats cruising along the river, and the sky turning shades of pink and purple. It was magical.

There’s something incredibly calming about the place. Even with people walking around and cafés buzzing, I found moments of stillness just watching the river flow. It made me appreciate how much history this place holds—and how beautifully it connects to the life of the city today.
