The Huguang Guild Hall (湖广会馆) is another historically significant 4A tourist attraction in Chongqing. Originally built during the Qing Dynasty as an association and gathering place for immigrants from Hunan and Guangdong provinces, it served as a cultural, social, and business hub for the immigrants at that time. Today, it's preserved as a museum and an important cultural attraction in Chongqing.
💛 Highlight: This old yellow building houses a museum, exhibitions, an opera house, a theater, and an inn.
🚠 You can enjoy a panoramic view of the cable car crossing the Yangtze River (just like in the TV series "The First Forst.") After exiting, walk a bit further and you'll find an elevator under a bridge. Press it to go up to the top floor and you'll be directly on the bridge.
💸 Admission: Approximately 25 yuan per person. Tickets are purchased at the entrance. Most importantly, you'll need a passport.
🚇 Getting there: Take Metro Line 1 to Xiaoshizi Station, Exit 7 or 8, and walk towards the suspension bridge. Next to the bridge, there's an elevator that takes you down to the Huguang Guild Hall.
This is another must-see if you're in Chongqing looking for historical attractions.
